What you will do
- Provide engineering consultancy and technical risk mitigation for materials and processes in space applications.
- Assess the suitability of materials and manufacturing methods for space environments.
- Review and evaluate inspection and test procedures for space equipment.
- Support technical teams in resolving non-conformances and evaluating proposals.
- Conduct technical reviews for future space solution building blocks.
- Share expertise in materials and processes across the organization.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Production Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
- Several years of experience in Materials and Processes Control (MMPP) in the space industry.
- Knowledge of ECSS-ST-Q-70 standards is mandatory.
- Solid expertise in metallurgy and welding technology.
- Fluent English and good German communication skills are required.
- Willingness to travel on business.
Nice to have
- Experience in fracture mechanics, quality assurance, or product assurance.
- Expertise in PCB technologies, corrosion, or advanced manufacturing (e.g., EDM).
- Welding engineer (IWE) certification or Inspector Certificate for ECSS-Q-ST-70-61.
- French language skills.
