What you will do

• Define and analyze software and system requirements for embedded flight applications.
• Lead the design of architecture and interfaces between hardware and software domains.
• Develop and integrate mission-critical components, including device drivers, RTOS elements, and communication protocols.
• Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).
• Support verification and validation activities according to industry standards (ECSS, DO-178C).
• Develop and review technical documentation ensuring compliance with coding standards and quality metrics.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field specializing in software development.
• Extensive experience in C/C++ for embedded systems and real-time applications.
• Deep understanding of RTOS and low-level programming (device drivers, BSPs).
• Familiarity with software development tools such as cross-compilers, debuggers, and static analysis.
• Knowledge of aerospace software standards (ECSS, DO-178C) and secure coding practices.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Spain.

Nice to have

• Software engineering practices based on ESA’s ECSS standards (ECSS-E-ST-40, ECSS-Q-ST-80).
• Familiarity with space-grade processors (LEON, ARM) and onboard buses (CAN, SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553).
• Experience with model-based design, software validation environments (SVF), and component-based development.
• Knowledge of time and space partitioning (TSP) implementation in flight software.
