Senior Backend Engineer (Gamedev): Building and deploying high-performance backend services for AAA and free-to-play game projects with an accent on scalability and distributed systems. Location: Must be based in the UK or the EU

What you will do
- Design and construct scalable backend systems and features for AAA and mobile game titles.
- Deploy and integrate backend services for external co-dev clients.
- Collaborate with team leads and stakeholders to estimate and prioritize development tasks.
- Maintain high standards through CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and technical documentation.
- Iterate on architectural solutions and support team members in daily technical challenges.
Requirements
- Experience developing server backends for at least two commercial game titles (AAA, F2P, or casino).
- Proven track record of releasing at least two backend services supporting a large number of concurrent users.
- Production proficiency in one of: Java, Golang, C#, C++, or Kotlin.
- Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), preferably with AWS Certification.
- Must be based in the UK or the EU.
- Experience with distributed applications, Microservices, and SOA (Kubernetes, Docker).
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Python, Node.js, or React.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Database experience with both SQL and NoSQL.
- Familiarity with Unreal or Unity integration.
- Experience using Gen AI or LLMs for code generation and data processing.
