Sr. Engineer, Enterprise Platforms (Java)

Sr. Engineer, Enterprise Platforms (Java/DevOps): Developing and maintaining internal developer platforms and enterprise services with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, automation, and developer experience. Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Must spend at least four full days each week working in an hirify.global office.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000/year

What you will do

• Design and develop enterprise services and internal developer platforms using Java and OOP principles.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices using Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, and SonarQube.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and cloud-native microservices to drive platform efficiency.
• Integrate and support tools such as Artifactory, Atlassian suite, and API Management platforms (Apigee, Kong, etc.).
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring peers and influencing architectural direction and platform strategy.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform stability and timely issue resolution.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Expertise in microservices architecture and cloud-native development.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Charlottetown office at least 4 days per week.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Snowflake and AWS.
• Exposure to testing and automation tools like JUnit, Selenium, and JMeter.
• Experience with developer experience (DX) tools and frameworks.
