Salary: $240,000 - $300,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the security team, including security architects and engineers.
• Define and mature a comprehensive security strategy aligned with overall business and product goals.
• Integrate security early in system designs and into CI/CD pipelines through close collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Own security architecture, IT compliance, and third-party risk assessment programs to satisfy regulatory and fintech expectations.
• Serve as a pragmatic risk-management advisor, providing business-enabling guardrails.
• Translate complex security concepts and major risks to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and growing small security teams within highly-regulated, growth-stage businesses.
• Experience operating within a public company environment.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native security principles (zero trust, least privilege, segmentation) and IAM controls.
• Must be based in the US.
• Strong ability to lead through influence and navigate corporate organizational structures.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in growth-stage Fintech or Insurtech companies.
• Experience guiding a security function through an IPO process.
• Hands-on experience with NIST, CIS, SOX, SOC2, PCI, and CCPA/CPRA frameworks.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
