What you will do

• Design and maintain embedded firmware and applications in C/C++ for manufacturing and test equipment.
• Develop, review, and validate PCBs and interface hardware for lab and plant environments.
• Integrate and debug vehicle communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Configure and troubleshoot networked systems, including switches, routers, and VLANs.
• Rapidly prototype new hardware/software concepts from lab demo to plant deployment.
• Act as a first-line problem solver for urgent electrical and networking issues during builds and launches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong experience in firmware/embedded software development using C or C++.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet/DoIP).
• Working knowledge of computer networking (TCP/IP, switches, routers, VLANs).
• Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and networks.
• Must be able to work onsite in Warren, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCB design tools like Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad.
• Familiarity with embedded hardware bring-up (NXP, TI, STM32, Raspberry Pi).
• Experience with test automation and scripting (Python, Vehicle Spy, CANoe).
• Understanding of basic cybersecurity for in-vehicle and lab networked devices.
• Background in automotive development or manufacturing environments.
