Salary: $160,000 – $220,000 CAD

What you will do

• Provide technical direction and architectural leadership for core backend services and customer-facing APIs.
• Design and implement scalable, secure features for the Auth0 Management API and Dashboard.
• Mentor and coach engineers to support team growth and technical excellence.
• Improve service resilience, stability, and performance through rigorous testing and optimization.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to support service integrations.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Deep expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript for building performant RESTful APIs.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong background in backend services for web applications, including authentication and session management.
• Experience with unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.
• Must be based in or able to work from Toronto, Ontario.

Nice to have

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Background in creating and maintaining public APIs at scale.
• Experience working in fully distributed, remote-first teams.
• Knowledge of architecture principles across infrastructure, security, and data layers.
