TL;DR
Junior Software Engineer – Fullstack (.NET): Developing full-stack applications for the Actuarial Catastrophe Modeling department within a global reinsurance firm with an accent on the Microsoft technology stack and cloud integration. Focus on building maintainable code, troubleshooting performance issues, and improving user experience through modern frameworks.
Location: Hybrid (Warren, NJ or New York, NY). 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Fully remote candidates are not considered.
Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 annually

What you will do
- Learn the reinsurance business by pricing contracts and running catastrophe models during the initial training phase.
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of full-stack applications using the Microsoft technology stack.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior developers.
- Identify and troubleshoot software bugs and performance issues.
- Collaborate on innovations to improve the overall user experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 0–2 years of professional software development experience (including internships and academic projects).
- Basic knowledge of C#, .NET, and ASP.NET.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Understanding of relational databases like SQL Server, including writing queries and stored procedures.
- Must be based in or able to work from Warren, NJ or New York, NY.
Nice to have
- Experience building web applications or REST APIs.
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
- Exposure to version control tools like Git.
- Interest in the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, probability, and statistics.
