What you will do

• Build highly engaging and scalable customer-facing features for the screens of hirify.global Bike, Tread, and Row from concept to deployment.
• Guide and mentor mid-level and junior engineers while optimizing team processes and modernizing engineering solutions.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Design teams to evaluate feasibility and translate vision into clean, high-performance code.
• Tackle complex engineering tasks using AI-first coding tools and profiling UI, memory, and threading.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of dedicated Android development.
• B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Deep understanding of Kotlin, Java, Android threading, and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI).
• Strong experience with REST APIs and data processing.
• Must be based in New York, NY.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Espresso automation testing frameworks.
• Experience with gRPC and GraphQL.
• Active GitHub projects or open-source contributions.
• Experience with continuous build integration in an Agile environment.
