Location: Hybrid (Markham, Ontario) - Required to report to the Markham Elevation Center at least three times per week.

Salary: $147,000 – $196,600

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of core Android platform and SystemUI capabilities for the infotainment stack.
• Own the technical direction for platform services and vehicle-aware user experience behavior.
• Define and enforce engineering patterns and interfaces to improve maintainability, quality, and long-term platform health.
• Integrate platform components with Android framework, Car Service APIs, and Vehicle HAL.
• Debug and resolve complex issues spanning AOSP, SystemUI, framework, and native layers.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews and hands-on implementation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience developing and customizing Android platform software, specifically SystemUI and UI framework internals.
• Significant experience with AOSP and Android Automotive OS (AAOS).
• Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin, with experience in Jetpack Compose and XML-based UI.
• Proven ability to lead technical strategy and define reusable platform solutions across complex problem spaces.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping Android Automotive infotainment systems in production vehicles.
• Contributions to AOSP and/or AAOS codebases.
• Experience with Vehicle HAL and Car Property APIs.
• Knowledge of Android security models, permissions architecture, and platform hardening.
• Experience using Google Partner Issue Tracker (Buganizer).
