SHEQ Manager

TL;DR

SHEQ Manager: Implementing and monitoring Protea Chemicals and hirify.global SHEQ Management Systems across manufacturing, distribution, and third-party logistics with an accent on process monitoring, auditing, legal compliance, and embedding a SHEQ culture. Focus on ISO accreditation support, zero-harm risk management (including process safety elements), and leading QA/QC and HAZOP/incident investigation activities.

What you will do

• Develop and implement a SHEQ strategy across sites, working with site management to drive SHEQ and continuous improvement culture.
• Implement and monitor SHE management programs aligned with safety objectives, including process safety management elements.
• Maintain ISO accreditation and ensure compliance with the OHS Act; communicate SHE initiatives and performance to the business.
• Identify training needs, manage occupational wellness programs, and drive risk management to achieve zero harm.
• Compile SHE reports by verifying data, analyzing trends, and ensuring reporting meets legal and company requirements.
• Lead QA/QC programs, conduct internal/supplier/client audits, manage contractors, and participate/lead HAZOPs and incident investigations.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, chemistry, safety, or equivalent.
• 5 years of demonstrated experience in SHERQ/SHEQ management in a production environment.
• 5 years of demonstrated experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
• 5 years of demonstrated people management experience.
• Experience with SHERQ management systems (2 years; advantageous).
• Process Safety Certificate (advantageous).
