Backend Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (AI): Building reliable and scalable software and public APIs for AI-powered crime investigation platforms with an accent on API design, system scalability, and customer experience. Location: Remote (South America). Must have at least 6 hours of overlap with PST (8 am to 2 pm PST).

What you will do

• Develop and maintain public APIs as part of the API Product suite.
• Design and build scalable systems, web applications, and backend services using Node.js.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to transform functional visions into tangible roadmaps.
• Support internal business units through shared engineering services and functionalities.
• Triage customer support requests for internal tools as part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building scalable systems, web applications, and APIs.
• Understanding of relational databases (e.g., Postgres) and analytical databases.
• Demonstrated experience bridging customer pain points to technical and product requirements.
• Must be based in South America with a required timezone overlap of 6 hours with PST.
• High degree of initiative, ownership, and ability to navigate ambiguity.
