Commercial Credit Underwriter (Commercial Banking)

What you will do

• Analyze financial statements and assess complex commercial credit relationships of $2,500,000 and greater.
• Perform loan and annual reviews, cash flow analysis, collateral valuations, global cash flow analysis, and credit assessments.
• Support relationship managers with credit structuring, covenant assessment, monitoring procedures, customer calls, and site visits.
• Research customer industries, run credit bureau and background checks, and evaluate creditworthiness and fraud risk.
• Maintain credit files and identify policy, collateral, documentation, relationship strengths, and risk exceptions.
• Train and mentor relationship managers, credit analysts, and CDP analysts; supervise the Credit Analysis Department in the manager’s absence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting or finance preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five to eight years of credit analysis experience required.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, ratios, accounting principles, and financial techniques.
• Strong research, problem-solving, mathematical, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines, maintain confidentiality, work with financial software, and identify discrepancies.
• Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and ability to perform supervisory responsibilities when required.
