TL;DR

AI / Machine Learning Engineering Lead (Insurance): Designing and implementing advanced AI models to solve complex business problems within the insurance sector with an accent on statistical foundations and scalable model integration. Focus on analyzing large datasets, evaluating model performance, and aligning AI solutions with business objectives.

Location: Hybrid in Warren, NJ (3 days onsite, 2 remote). Fully remote candidates are not considered.

Salary: $180,000 – $220,000

What you will do

  • Design and develop scalable AI models with a robust statistical foundation for integration into existing systems.
  • Establish and utilize performance metrics to continuously monitor and refine model accuracy.
  • Analyze large insurance datasets to extract meaningful patterns and validate models against benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to ensure AI solutions meet business goals.
  • Communicate technical findings and strategic recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 7–9 years of overall professional experience, with 3–5+ years specifically in AI/ML development and deployment.
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Expertise in Python and/or R, along with strong SQL skills.
  • Strong background in statistics and probability applied to real-world data.
  • Experience with insurance datasets (claims, underwriting) is highly desirable.
