Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco for a hybrid role (3 days/week in office)

Salary: $230,000–$287,500

What you will do

• Define and lead the overarching AI architecture strategy for streaming content, conversational AI, and clinical services.
• Architect end-to-end AI systems including LLMs, agentic workflows, and RAG with a focus on reliability and safety.
• Partner with executive and product leadership to align AI technical roadmaps with business goals.
• Establish company-wide AI design principles, evaluation frameworks, and data governance standards.
• Drive responsible AI practices including bias mitigation, explainability, and regulatory compliance in health tech.
• Mentor engineering teams and serve as the internal and external technical thought leader for AI.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years focused on production AI/ML systems at scale.
• Deep expertise in modern AI architectures (LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks, real-time inference).
• Proven ability to define AI strategy at an organizational level and influence executive stakeholders.
• Strong command of responsible AI principles, data privacy, and ethical considerations in health contexts.
• Extensive experience with cloud-native AI infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, and MLOps.
• Must be able to work from the San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital health or regulated consumer domains (HIPAA familiarity).
• Background in fine-tuning, RLHF, or domain-adapted model training.
• Experience with conversational AI, dialogue systems, or AI-powered coaching products.
• Track record of building AI evaluation frameworks and red-teaming pipelines.
