Senior Cyber Security Engineer (IAM)

TL;DR

Senior Cyber Security Engineer (IAM): Leading security enablement and automation for enterprise application onboarding with an accent on secure integration patterns and IAM ecosystems. Focus on designing scalable authentication/authorization standards and building automation tools to streamline onboarding processes.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Austin, Texas or Warren, Michigan, reporting to office at least 3 times a week). No immigration sponsorship provided.

What you will do

• Lead secure application onboarding design and implementation across the enterprise.
• Define and support authentication and authorization patterns including SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
• Design and build automation tools, scripts, and APIs to reduce manual onboarding effort and improve consistency.
• Partner with application owners, architects, and stakeholders to guide secure integration and onboarding strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure onboarded applications meet internal security standards and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical direction and roadmap of the security organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, or Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Hands-on experience with SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and related authentication technologies.
• Strong development or automation background in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, or similar.
• Experience with cloud identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID, AWS, or GCP.
• Must have existing US work authorization (no sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
• Experience building automation using APIs, workflow platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code, or CI/CD tooling.
• Proven experience in a lead engineering role within Security Enablement or IAM.
