TL;DR

Sr Software Application Engineer (SaaS): Designing and developing scalable business applications for U.S. federal agencies with an accent on metadata-driven environments and object-oriented frameworks. Focus on modernizing employee lifecycle and finance operations while ensuring high security and performance standards.

Location: Must be a United States citizen. Hybrid work (at least 50% in-office/field per quarter) based in Reston, VA or other US locations.

Salary: $163,800 - $245,800 USD

What you will do

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and QA Engineers on functional design and requirements analysis.
  • Lead the design and development of products within a metadata-driven environment.
  • Develop and maintain robust, efficient code using object-oriented frameworks and class modeling.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and hackathons.

Requirements

  • United States citizenship (naturalized or native) is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (TS/SCI w/CI Poly preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with UML, Web application development, or SaaS technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, Python, C#, or C++.
  • 8+ years of experience in business application design and software performance analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficiency with JSON, REST, and GraphQL.
  • DoD 8570/8140 compliance with IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA CySA+, CASP+).
