What you will do

• Define target-state architecture for the modernized platform across front-end frameworks, API/services, data persistence, integration middleware, and infrastructure (Azure and on-premise).
• Create reference architectures, ADRs, and migration roadmaps for phased modernization milestones.
• Design hybrid integration patterns so cloud-native and on-prem components coexist during transitional phases (networking, identity, data synchronization).
• Lead architectural reviews and design sessions across front-end, back-end, data, and infrastructure workstreams; ensure consistency and alignment.
• Validate modernization execution through legacy assessments, migration strategy design, and proofs of concept/reference implementations.
• Present architectural options, trade-offs, and progress to senior technical and business leadership; align standards and governance with client teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a solutions architect or enterprise architect capacity.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English (85%).
• Demonstrated mastery across the full application stack: modern front-end frameworks (React/Angular or equivalent), REST APIs/microservices/event-driven architectures, and relational/NoSQL data layers.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services (App Services, AKS, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure DevOps, Azure Networking such as VNets/Private Link/ExpressRoute).
• Proven experience designing and implementing hybrid architectures spanning Azure cloud and on-prem infrastructure, including identity federation (Entra ID/Active Directory), data synchronization, and network connectivity.
• Must be based in Costa Rica.
