SQL Developer

TL;DR

Location: Remote (Costa Rica). Candidates must be willing and able to work U.S. Eastern Time (ET) or closely aligned hours on a regular basis.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
• Develop and support ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across various systems.
• Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and application teams to define and implement business requirements.
• Build efficient data models to support reporting and analytics needs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SQL development.
• Strong proficiency in relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Expertise in writing complex queries, joins, CTEs, and window functions.
• Proven experience with performance tuning and database design principles (normalization, indexing).
• Experience with ETL tools or scripting (e.g., SSIS, Informatica).
• Must be based in Costa Rica and align with U.S. Eastern Time hours.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
