What you will do

  • Oversee and approve processes for the disposal of prescription medications and pharmaceutical waste in compliance with 503A and DEA regulations.
  • Maintain full traceability of inventory from receipt through disposal, including patient returns and quarantined items.
  • Develop, review, and maintain SOPs governing returns, quarantine, and destruction.
  • Conduct routine audits and risk assessments to ensure inspection readiness for Board of Pharmacy and DEA audits.
  • Partner with Pharmacy Operations, Quality, and Compliance teams to mitigate risk and ensure aligned execution.
  • Monitor cycle count results to identify trends related to shrinkage, discrepancies, or diversion risk.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in the State of Ohio required.
  • 5–7+ years of pharmaceutical inventory management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of 503A regulations, DEA requirements, and state Board of Pharmacy rules.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical waste handling, medication disposal, and returns oversight.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for up to 12 hours and lifting up to 50lbs.

Nice to have

  • Experience in mail-order, compounding, or high-volume pharmacy operations.
  • Background in quality assurance, compliance, or regulatory affairs.
  • Prior experience supporting regulatory inspections and compliance audits.
  • Strong SOP writing and data analytics skills.
