What you will do

• Lead and coach a small team of 3-5 engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and optimized backend systems using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define requirements and devise solution strategies.
• Perform code reviews and promote a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure adherence to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing to ensure reliability.
• Influence decision-making and contribute to policy development for operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a small engineering team through the successful delivery of software projects.
• Strong commercial experience with Core Java SE 8+, Spring ecosystem, and Hibernate.
• Deep knowledge of design patterns, object-oriented design principles, and database design fundamentals.
• Experience with multi-threading, messaging (MQ/JMS), and XML processing.
• Location: Must be based in the Prague office.

Nice to have

• Experience with SOAP and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, source control, CI/CD, and release management.
• Domain knowledge in investment banking, markets, or equity derivatives.
