TL;DR

Application Support Engineer (IoT): Providing advanced application-level and operational support for production environments with an accent on incident management, technical investigation, and service stability. Focus on troubleshooting distributed applications, optimizing monitoring dashboards, and enabling L1 support teams.

Location: Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona), Spain. Hybrid work model (3 days of remote work)

What you will do

  • Handle and resolve application-level incidents, problems, and service requests across supported platforms.
  • Perform in-depth technical analysis and troubleshooting using logs, databases, and monitoring tools.
  • Restore application services and manage operational activities in production environments, including profile and certificate management.
  • Configure, improve, and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts using tools like Splunk.
  • Guide, train, and provide on-call support for L1 Support Engineers to improve first contact resolution.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and operational standards in Confluence.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in application support and production operations.
  • Advanced operational knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in log analysis and troubleshooting of distributed applications.
  • Database knowledge (SQL/NoSQL, Oracle, Couchbase).
  • Experience with ITIL-based service management and bug tracking (JIRA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, ITSI, Thruk, or Nagios.
  • Knowledge of mobile, telecom, SaaS, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience with application onboarding, integration, and configuration.
  • Automation and process optimization mindset.
