What you will do

• Manage core database operations including instance scaling, performance tuning, and user access.
• Lead major and minor database upgrades and design robust backup strategies.
• Collaborate with developers on schema migrations, query tuning, and model optimization.
• Build and maintain self-service automation tools and Terraform-based RDS infrastructure.
• Monitor system health using Datadog/Cloudwatch and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Develop Python scripts to assist in Django migration issues and database standards.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL in production environments.
• Experience managing databases in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS RDS.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming, specifically Python.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CDK.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model in Barcelona (Mondays & Thursdays).

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools to assist with coding or monitoring.
• Familiarity with database integration using ORM, preferably Django.
