Salary: $140,000 - $196,000

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for cloud security across the AWS environment, integrating security into platform engineering.
• Design and scale enterprise-grade security controls, including identity boundaries and policy enforcement frameworks.
• Serve as the senior technical expert for reviewing security risks and building secure-by-default systems.
• Drive high-impact initiatives such as compliance strategy implementation and cloud risk reduction programs.
• Mentor developers and influence leadership on critical security decisions.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work from Toronto or St. John's (Hybrid)
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in cloud security and cloud-native architecture.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional security initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Strong ability to influence leadership and serve as a subject-matter expert across engineering domains.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Clear communication skills for translating security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated industries.
• Cloud or security certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CCSP).
• Hands-on experience with threat detection tooling or AI-driven security practices.
