What you will do

• Lead architectural reviews of operational controls and conduct vulnerability and threat risk assessments.
• Design and propose comprehensive security control solutions for university systems and networks.
• Lead ad-hoc incident response teams during significant cybersecurity incidents.
• Define and document best practices for control development, deployment, and hardening.
• Educate unit IT teams on secure implementation and mentor junior cybersecurity professionals.
• Develop custom internal tools and applications to address specific cybersecurity needs.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of eight years of related experience, including at least two years of managerial experience.
• Cybersecurity industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or ISACA are required.
• Experience in developing tools in interpreted programming languages (e.g., Python).
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST CSF 2.0, OWASP, and ISO 2700x.
• Experience with incident, request, and change management in a large, complex environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure).
• Experience securing and remediating web applications.
• Expertise in ML/AI for cybersecurity and AI guardrails implementation.
• Proficiency in UNIX command line and systems administration.
