Data Migration Specialist (SaaS)

Location: Based in New York City (3 days/week minimum in office)

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 annually + equity

What you will do

• Own end-to-end data migration for new customers, from initial data collection through post-load validation and sign-off.
• Conduct pre-migration data audits to identify integrity issues, duplicates, and format mismatches.
• Build and maintain formal source-to-target field mapping documents for various source systems.
• Clean, map, and transform customer data using SQL, JavaScript, Python, Excel, and the Rubie platform.
• Partner with platform engineers to maintain and develop new migration scripts and tooling.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on admin portal updates and data-related tooling improvements.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in data migration or data onboarding at a SaaS company.
• Strong SQL skills for extracting, transforming, and validating data across different schemas.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including Power Query, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.
• Experience with JavaScript or Python (Pandas) for writing transformation scripts and automation.
• Familiarity with Git for managing and sharing migration scripts.
• Must be based in New York City for a hybrid work arrangement (3 days/week in office) and available to travel up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with waste hauling or waste management software platforms.
• Experience with Rubie or similar data migration tooling.
• Familiarity with customer success platforms like Planhat, Gainsight, or GuideCX.
• Experience with Jira for task tracking and cross-functional coordination.
