What you will do

• Scope and design NLP/NLU applications for clinical document understanding.
• Translate clinical requirements into measurable mathematical and experimental criteria.
• Process and enrich large-scale structured and unstructured medical datasets.
• Develop and evaluate deep learning models, including transformers and neural architectures.
• Mitigate model risks such as bias, drift, and hallucination.
• Deploy models into cloud environments, ensuring reliability and compliance.

Requirements

• US citizenship or permanent resident status required.
• Master's degree or PhD in computer science, mathematics, or related fields (or Bachelor's with 5+ years of IT experience).
• Solid experience in Python, specifically deep learning for text analysis (PyTorch, Transformers).
• Strong grasp of statistics and exploratory data analysis.
• Ability to work in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with research-driven NLP/NLU and representation learning.
• Familiarity with AWS, GitHub, and CI/CD practices.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompting, and agentic AI frameworks.
• Experience with ETL tools like PySpark or Spark NLP.
• Exposure to clinical coding systems (ICD, CPT, SNOMED).
