Location: Hybrid: Must be based in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA (office presence required at least 25% of the time).

Salary: $405,000 - $485,000 USD

What you will do

• Set technical strategy and oversee development of safety features across all Claude CSP surfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align goals and drive outcomes for frontier LLM serving.
• Lead the hiring, coaching, and scaling of a high-performing technical team.
• Design and manage operational processes, including postmortem reviews, incident response, and on-call rotations.
• Identify and implement solutions for product, infrastructure, operations, and capacity needs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in high-scale, high-reliability software development, particularly in infrastructure or capacity management.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience recruiting and retaining engineering talent in a high-growth environment.
• Experience scaling products and operations to accommodate rapid growth.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently between Seattle and the SF Bay Area.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity and access controls (KYC/KYB, verification flows).
• Experience detecting and mitigating platform abuse at scale (account fraud, bot traffic, model extraction).
• Background in trust & safety, security, or legal/compliance.
• Experience with ML infrastructure (GPUs, TPUs, Trainium) and networking infrastructure (NCCL).
• Experience with deployment and capacity management automation.
