TL;DR
DevOps Engineer (API Platform): Managing and enhancing the Kong API Gateway platform across hybrid cloud environments with an accent on infrastructure automation, scalability, and security. Salary: €4,105–€5,862 gross per month.

What you will do
- Design and implement Kong API Gateway solutions within AKS, EKS, and OpenShift environments.
- Manage the full lifecycle of Kong components, including gateways, ingress controllers, and plugins.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts and CI/CD pipelines for cloud and on-premise systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot API traffic, latency, and overall gateway performance.
- Collaborate with security and application teams to define API standards, governance, and secure exposure policies.
- Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures to support internal engineering teams.
Requirements
- Must be located in the Netherlands with the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) and OpenShift container deployments.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, Terraform, and AzureCLI.
- Familiarity with API security best practices such as OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
Nice to have
- Experience with financial services technology landscapes and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of enterprise governance, security, and compliance.
- Familiarity with legacy system integration and modernization approaches.
- Experience in platform development.
