What you will do

• Design and implement Kong API Gateway solutions within AKS, EKS, and OpenShift environments.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Kong components, including gateways, ingress controllers, and plugins.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts and CI/CD pipelines for cloud and on-premise systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot API traffic, latency, and overall gateway performance.
• Collaborate with security and application teams to define API standards, governance, and secure exposure policies.
• Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures to support internal engineering teams.

Requirements

• Must be located in the Netherlands with the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) and OpenShift container deployments.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, Terraform, and AzureCLI.
• Familiarity with API security best practices such as OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial services technology landscapes and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of enterprise governance, security, and compliance.
• Familiarity with legacy system integration and modernization approaches.
• Experience in platform development.
