What you will do

• Cover local news and perform general newsgathering for daily newscasts.
• Collaborate with Investigative and Special Projects teams to produce compelling, high-impact journalism.
• Operate professional camera, sound, and lighting equipment, including LiveU and Dejero live packs.
• Edit video content using Edius and Adobe CC Suite.
• Manage station-issued equipment and vehicles through preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Respond rapidly to breaking news while upholding strict journalistic and safety standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in News Camera/Field Photography, with 3-5 years in a top ten market.
• Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be based in or willing to work in San Jose, CA.
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) during breaking news.
• Proficiency with Edius v.9+ and Sony workflows.

Nice to have

• Fluency in Spanish.
• Degree in Broadcast Journalism or Production.
• Proficiency in Adobe CC Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of SONY FX6 and SONY FX3 cinema cameras.
• Experience with satellite truck operation.
