Staff Project Engineer (Aerospace): Leading complex and large-scale aerospace projects including new product introduction (NPI) and internal R&D with an accent on propulsion systems and strategic defense missions. Location: Onsite in Niagara Falls, NY (or East Aurora with travel). Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and access U.S. export-controlled information.
Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 Annually

What you will do
- Lead cross-functional project teams through large-scope programs, ranging from new product development to high-volume production.
- Manage budget, scope, and schedule commitments as the primary technical point of contact for assigned projects.
- Develop new product requirements through consultation with customers and validate solutions via trade studies.
- Prepare and lead successful proposals, including writing the technical volume and providing cost estimates.
- Drive production efficiency across multiple sites and oversee the execution of the design and development process.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and assist management in establishing project engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Advanced degree MS, PhD, or MBA preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years leading development projects of comparable complexity.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
- Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
- Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to mentor and coach other engineers.
- Strong business acumen and proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVMS).
