Quality Engineer I

Quality Engineer I: Perform quality assurance activities in a team-based manufacturing environment with an accent on statistical quality methods and compliance documentation. Location: Onsite – Blacksburg, VA

Salary: $65,000.00–$80,000.00 annually

What you will do

• Maintain confidential information and use enterprise information systems and databases; Microsoft Office proficiency is beneficial.
• Perform document review for contract, industry, and regulatory flow downs; support quote reviews for compliance and quality-related cost assignment.
• Apply analytical and statistical quality tools including SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why, and Fault Trees; use Six Sigma tools to maintain internal and external quality.
• Respond to internal and external quality issues with an emphasis on prevention and cascading lessons learned across programs and products.
• Develop quality documentation and test procedures; collaborate across the organization to maintain compliance to customer and internal part/specification requirements.
• Maintain positive customer relations, including some travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field OR a Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment OR an associate degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in a team-based manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Blacksburg, VA.
• Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.
