What you will do

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on pumps, valves, gearboxes, motors, and associated plant equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and execute corrective repairs to minimize operational downtime.
• Install, overhaul, and commission mechanical equipment according to industry specifications.
• Conduct pipework repairs including flanged, threaded, and welded systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using asset management systems.
• Support engineers and operations teams with asset optimization and equipment upgrades.

Requirements

• Recognized mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or apprenticeship).
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Technician in an industrial or utilities environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM documentation.
• Must hold or be able to obtain Confined Space training (NC1/NC2).
• Strong safety awareness and compliance-led mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience within the water or wastewater industry.
• Water hygiene card (EUSR).
• IOSH Working Safely qualification.
• Welding or fabrication skills.
