What you will do

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on specialist OHL plant, winches, puller/tensioners, tractors, and HGVs.
• Conduct pre-use inspections, fault finding, and routine servicing of mechanical systems.
• Support the mobilization and demobilization of plant equipment for OHL projects.
• Execute preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing according to manufacturer and company standards.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records in compliance with company procedures.
• Attend on-site breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as required.

Requirements

• Must have the legal Right to Work in the UK.
• Must be available to be based in Darlington, County Durham for a minimum of 24 weeks for training.
• Relevant experience as a time-served fitter in a dealership or construction environment.
• Essential safety certifications including Asbestos Awareness, COSHH, Manual Handling, and Working at Height.
• Ability to travel across the UK as part of a mobile operation.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with workshop teams and site managers.

Nice to have

• HGV Class 2 license (Class 1 desirable).
• CITB/CPCS Lorry Loader certificate.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Fork-Lift or Telehandler license.
• Experience with HAVS, abrasive wheels, and spill management.
