Field Development Intern (Agriculture)

TL;DR

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in Madera, CA or Rochelle, IL

What you will do

• Assist in setting up small plot field trials and monitoring insect traps.
• Perform equipment calibration, pesticide mixing, and plot spraying.
• Conduct field scouting and general farm operations including planting, irrigating, and mowing.
• Collect and summarize field trial data using Microsoft Office tools.
• Collaborate with peer teams to achieve research objectives while adhering to safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an Agricultural, Plant Sciences, or similar discipline.
• Must have completed at least the first year of undergraduate studies.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to carry a 20 to 50 lb. backpack on uneven ground.
• Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Experience handling farm equipment.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
