What you will do

• Own the design and organization of the data lake, including schema definitions and partitioning strategies.
• Build and maintain end-to-end pipelines for ingesting high-bandwidth sensor logs from vehicles into cloud storage.
• Develop automated data validation and integrity checks to detect corrupted or missing sensor data.
• Create tooling for dataset curation, pseudo-labeling, and model performance metrics.
• Deploy and maintain visualization tools to support log review, annotation QA, and autonomy debugging.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, and embedded engineers to define data contracts and interfaces.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of data engineering experience (4+ years with a Master’s).
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for building production-quality pipelines.
• Deep experience with cloud data infrastructure (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Solid understanding of data partitioning and columnar storage formats like Parquet or ORC.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or sensor-driven systems.
• Deep experience with Foxglove or Rerun for log review and annotation QA.
• Familiarity with MCAP CLI and Python libraries.
• Experience with data curation for ML training, including diversity sampling and versioning.
