What you will do

• Serve as the primary editorial lead for the evening shift, making real-time decisions on coverage and alerts.
• Manage and coach the platform team to elevate performance and maintain consistent editorial standards.
• Plan and execute coverage for major news events, pivoting quickly as breaking news occurs.
• Oversee the production and editorial quality of the Morning Rundown newsletter.
• Coordinate with London-based teams to ensure a smooth handoff of coverage and priorities.
• Develop and refine distribution strategies to grow the evening audience across all digital platforms.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a digital newsroom.
• Strong understanding of digital distribution ecosystems and SEO best practices.
• Proficiency with newsroom tools including Chartbeat, Parse.ly, Google Trends, and SocialFlow.
• Must be based in Universal City, CA and able to work a hybrid schedule (4 days/week in-office).
• Proven ability to manage and coach editorial teams in a high-pressure environment.
