TL;DR
People Application Developer (HRTech): Building and optimizing large-scale internal HR systems and automation workflows with an accent on middleware integration, AI/LLM implementation, and system scalability. Focus on designing robust solutions for Workday and chatbot integrations to enhance operational efficiency across the global People Team.
Location: Must be based in the US and work onsite 4+ days per week in Bellevue, Los Angeles, or Palo Alto.
Salary: $133,000–$235,000 (depending on pay zone).

What you will do
- Design and develop large-scale solutions from scratch with a focus on efficiency and maintainability.
- Manage the automation roadmap and lead technical direction for People Team solutions.
- Integrate AI services and LLM APIs into production applications to optimize internal processes.
- Build middleware solutions for chatbot integrations connecting systems like Slack, Workday, Jira, and Confluence.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure high availability and scalability of systems.
- Mentor junior team members and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with backend services, distributed systems, and database design.
- Proficiency in building RESTful APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployment.
- Ability to work onsite 4+ days per week in assigned office locations.
Nice to have
- Experience with Java and/or Python.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with JavaScript UI frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Prior experience building applications within an HR technology or People Operations environment.
- Experience with Workday integrations and automations.
