Focus on managing the copy desk, performing structural and line-level edits, and collaborating with the global Content Integrity Group.

Location: Must be based in London, UK. The role requires office attendance four days a week (Monday - Thursday).

What you will do

• Copy-edit and proofread content to a high standard.
• Ensure copy is accurate, clearly structured, and aligned with publication tone.
• Carry out fact-checking and liaise with the fact-checking team.
• Flag legal, ethical, or sensitive issues in content.
• Manage copy through all production stages from layout to final proofs.
• Deputise for the Copy Director when required.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in copy-editing, proofreading, or subediting on a print publication.
• Excellent command of British English grammar, spelling, and usage.
• Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail under deadline pressure.
• Confidence in making structural and line-level edits.
• Familiarity with fact-checking practices and legal sensitivities.
• Experience with Adobe InCopy/InDesign, Slack, and Google Workspace.
