What you will do

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of core systems, including schema design, backend APIs, and React frontend surfaces.
• Design and implement AI-powered features, specifically agent workflows and LLM-backed automation in production.
• Proactively identify and resolve engineering inefficiencies within the autonomous freight domain.
• Drive technical design for significant features and align cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
• Ensure system reliability by building robust monitoring, metrics, and incident response processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-grade systems.
• Full-stack proficiency with the ability to own features from database to browser.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production user workflows, addressing latency, reliability, and cost.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) for deploying and maintaining services.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to product and engineering stakeholders.
• Must be able to work onsite in San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, or React.
• Familiarity with agentic patterns, RAG, or workflow orchestration tools like Temporal.
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or pricing systems.
