What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and AWS.
• Design scalable features for core server technologies to support new gameplay mechanics.
• Monitor server cluster performance and implement optimizations.
• Analyze player behavior to harden systems against cheating and botting.
• Collaborate with QA to resolve bugs and ensure high-quality code delivery.
• Manage application deployments and monitoring in cloud environments.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to relocate to Barcelona, Spain.
• Extensive experience in backend development for high-traffic systems or MMO games.
• Strong proficiency in Python and its ecosystem (Flask, FastAPI, Tornado).
• Solid understanding of Redis, Linux, Docker, and MySQL.
• Experience with RESTful API design and low-latency, asynchronous programming.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Redis Streams.
• Experience with traffic analysis tools like Datadog or Charles proxy.
