Engineering Manager, Observability

Salary: $200,000 - $235,000 CAD (base pay range for Toronto, ON)

What you will do

• Lead and support engineers building observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) and related infrastructure
• Design and improve data ingestion pipelines and storage systems for high-volume telemetry
• Partner with product and infrastructure teams to integrate observability into new and existing services
• Improve system reliability by reducing time to detect and resolve production issues
• Manage team priorities, support career development, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering work

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
• Background in infrastructure, reliability, or observability systems (metrics, logging, or distributed tracing)
• Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, and cloud-based platforms
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring/observability tools
• Ability to understand complex systems and guide technical decisions that improve performance and reliability
