What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of backend engineers for Bitstamp’s core derivatives trading platform
• Set technical direction for high-performance services including order matching, risk systems, and consensus-based infrastructure
• Drive project execution and ensure SLAs for low latency, data integrity, and uptime
• Collaborate with product, security, and infrastructure teams to support market expansion and new contract listings
• Build a high-trust, inclusive team culture focused on speed, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Experience managing or tech leading backend engineering teams in performance-critical environments
• Strong technical background in Golang, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture (preferably AWS)
• Proven ability to scale infrastructure and services for high throughput and low-latency requirements
• Ability to mentor engineers, set a high technical bar, and grow top-tier teams
• Clear communication skills to lead through complexity, ambiguity, and urgency
