What you will do

• Commission narrative review articles and opinion pieces for the weather and climate area of the journal.
• Work with authors through writing and revision: provide feedback on synopses, developmental edits, and line-by-line edits pre-acceptance.
• Coordinate peer review and contribute to editorial strategy and planning.
• Write Research Highlights and other editorial content.
• Collaborate on special projects within and across journal teams.
• Engage with the global scientific community via conferences, institutional visits, and author outreach.

Requirements

• PhD in Earth science, preferably in weather and climate science.
• Demonstrated ability to edit for sense, clarity, factual correctness, and language.
• Strong writing and excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to absorb new research areas and identify emerging trends beyond immediate specialty.
• Willingness to travel to meet scientists and advocate for the journal.
