Integration Engineer (Healthcare)

TL;DR

Integration Engineer (Python/Healthcare): Bridging healthcare data systems with a clinical AI platform with an accent on interoperability standards and data engineering. Focus on designing reliable integrations using HL7 v2, FHIR, and RESTful APIs to ensure AI models work at scale.

Location: Onsite in Duarte, CA (5 days per week) with occasional travel to Palo Alto, CA

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain healthcare data integrations using Python, HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, and SQL.
• Translate product and delivery requirements into scalable and testable integration flows.
• Coordinate implementation and QA with offshore engineering teams.
• Monitor and optimize live integration performance and resolve bottlenecks.
• Develop reusable components and integration templates to increase delivery efficiency.
• Lead root-cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare integration or interoperability engineering.
• Strong proficiency in HL7 v2, FHIR, and X12 standards.
• Hands-on experience with Python and at least one integration engine (e.g., Mirth, Rhapsody, InterSystems IRIS, or Redox).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and SQL.
• Must be able to work onsite in Duarte, CA, five days per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with EHR APIs such as Epic, Cerner, or AthenaOne.
• Knowledge of FHIR bulk data workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, or cloud deployment pipelines.
• Background in AI/ML data pipelines or healthcare analytics.
