System Test Engineer Intern

TL;DR

System Test Engineer Intern (Networking/QA): Build and validate automated and exploratory tests for Arista’s AGNI network identity and access management solution with an accent on finding hard-to-reproduce bugs and verifying functionality, performance, stability, and scalability. Focus on designing test network topologies, executing test plans, and collaborating with developers in short agile cycles to ensure reliable customer-facing behavior.

Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA (Hybrid: ~3 days per week in an office)

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 / year (base pay)

What you will do

• Collaborate with developers to create automated test plans that complement exploratory testing.
• Participate in functional specification and software design reviews with customer-centric input.
• Use multiple approaches to find defects in the software and/or hardware being developed.
• Write and execute test plans to validate features and products, identify defects, and verify fixes.
• Design test network topologies to validate functionality, performance, stability, and scalability.
• Work as an agile member of a combined development and test team in short iteration cycles.

Requirements

• BS in CS/CE/EE plus 1+ years of experience; MS preferred.
• Experience creating test methodologies and writing test plans, or system software skills.
• Strong knowledge of 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, AAA, NAC, VLANs, IP routing, TCP/IP, and L2–L3 protocols.
• Experience configuring wired switches and/or wireless access points for network access use cases.
• Good working knowledge of structured programming languages such as Python, Go, C, or C++ (desirable).
• Strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Identity Providers such as Okta, Microsoft Active Directory, or OneLogin.
• Experience testing cloud-native SaaS applications.
• Experience with other AAA or NAC products like ISE and ClearPass.
