Director, DevOps (Mobility)

TL;DR

Director, DevOps (AWS/Azure/On-prem): Leading the strategy and execution of CI/CD, release engineering, and site reliability for a mobility business with an accent on hybrid cloud infrastructure and high-scale delivery pipelines. Focus on improving DORA metrics, designing complex automation, and ensuring production reliability across multiple environments.

Location: Hybrid (Mesa, Arizona). Must be comfortable commuting into the office 3 days a week.

What you will do

• Design and contribute directly to CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and observability instrumentation.
• Directly manage a team of senior DevOps and SRE engineers, overseeing hiring, growth, and performance.
• Own the end-to-end CI/CD platform using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for hundreds of microservices.
• Serve as incident commander for high-severity events and drive root-cause analysis to improve MTTR.
• Collaborate with Information Security to implement shift-left security (SAST, DAST, SCA) in pipelines.
• Develop and execute a 12-18 month DevOps/SRE roadmap balancing reliability, security, and delivery velocity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience in DevOps/SRE, with 4+ years in a direct leadership role.
• Deep hands-on experience operating delivery pipelines across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
• Expertise in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, including pipeline-as-code authoring.
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Mesa, AZ 3 days a week.

• Experience in mobility, transportation, tolling, or high-volume transaction-processing industries.
• Familiarity with GitOps patterns and progressive delivery tooling like Argo CD or LaunchDarkly.
• Experience leading large-scale CI/CD consolidation (e.g., Jenkins to GitHub Actions).
