Energy Development Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Energy Development Engineer (Automotive): Defining and delivering vehicle energy performance solutions with an accent on energy efficiency and propulsion system integration. Focus on resolving complex technical issues affecting fuel economy and drivability while leading cross-functional alignment across calibration and software teams.

Location: Hybrid (3x per week in Indaiatuba, SP, Brazil). No immigration sponsorship or relocation benefits provided.

What you will do

• Lead energy development activities for vehicle programs to ensure technical definition and delivery of energy targets.
• Translate system-level energy performance drivers into executable workstreams across propulsion, calibration, and software.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to fuel economy, energy efficiency, and drivability.
• Drive cross-functional alignment on technical assumptions, tradeoffs, and risks.
• Present technical recommendations and decision points to leadership and stakeholders.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Active CREA registration (mandatory).
• Solid experience in vehicle energy development, vehicle performance, or propulsion systems.
• Strong systems engineering and integration capabilities.
• Proven ability to work independently and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in engine calibration or interaction with calibration teams.
• Knowledge of software relevant to vehicle controls and embedded functions.
• Experience with hybrid and electrified energy management systems.
• Familiarity with vehicle testing and data acquisition.
