What you will do

• Deliver high-impact projects end-to-end, focused on Underwriting problems such as claims drivers, portfolio optimization, and risk selection.
• Evaluate and apply cloud and foundation model capabilities to solve business needs, including RAG, tool-use/agents, and orchestration.
• Generate insights from internal and external data using big data pipelines (Spark/Databricks) and LLM techniques (retrieval, embeddings, evaluation & guardrails).
• Build user-facing applications and services, from proof of concepts to full-scale solutions and API services embedded into Underwriting processes.
• Ensure production reliability by building/optimizing AI models and extending automation architecture (e.g., web scrapers, automated alerts).
• Coordinate with product managers and application users globally and mentor more junior team members.

Requirements

• Professional experience across data science and data engineering, shipping production-grade analytics/AI applications.
• Hands-on experience building LLM applications (prompt design, RAG, embeddings, vector stores, evaluation & guardrails, cost/performance tuning) and willingness to engineer full-stack production solutions.
• Familiarity with agentic patterns (tool use, planning, function calling, document workflows) and LLM orchestration frameworks.
• Strong Python for production-grade development; SQL and experience with Spark/Databricks and query optimization/indexing.
• Solid statistical foundations (e.g., regression, time series, uncertainty estimation) and experience across the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
