What you will do

• Define and drive the technical architecture of the Billing extensibility platform, setting scalable patterns and standards.
• Identify high-leverage extension points across the billing system and partner with domain teams to integrate them as first-class features.
• Own end-to-end technical solutioning for complex, novel problems from initial design to production delivery.
• Build resilient systems capable of safely executing user-authored logic within the billing engine.
• Drive adoption of extension capabilities and execute the technical roadmap in collaboration with leadership.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through design and code reviews.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading large, complex software projects.
• Experience as a technical lead building external-facing products for customers.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, including distributed systems, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and resilient design.
• Demonstrated ability to build alignment and drive initiatives across organizational boundaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for producing clear technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, or billing systems.
• Platform engineering experience building tools and frameworks for internal engineering teams.
• Background in domain-driven design or building extensible systems (e.g., plugin architectures).
• Experience iterating on early-stage products from initial adoption to production scale.
